Welcome!

Welcome to the Virginia Sponsors Association for the USDA Child & Adult Care Food Program! (CACFP) We sponsor the CACFP for family child care homes, child care centers and adult care centers in all counties and cities in Virginia.

The CACFP is a federal program that provides nutrition training and financial reimbursement for approved meals and snacks that are served in regulated child care homes, qualified child care centers and adult day care centers. In order for family child care homes to participate, they must have a Voluntary Registration certificate, State License, Military Approval or Local County Approval. Centers must be state licensed and non-profit. Licensed for-profit centers qualify if at least 25% of enrolled children or adults are low income.

The primary objective of the CACFP is to ensure that children and adults who are enrolled in child care or adult care programs receive well-balanced, nutritious meals and snacks. The program helps providers meet this goal through nutrition education, program training, and financial reimbursement.
